In the meeting held at the Torrevieja Town Hall, the ambassador was interested in the situation of the more than 600 Finnish citizens registered in our city (one of the most important colonies in our country) and who in recent years have grown in number as has increased the rest of residents from Scandinavian countries (Sweden and Norway).
Both the mayor and the ambassador have agreed to carry out a joint work in coordination with the Finnish consulate so that the residents of this country continue to integrate more in cultural aspects as well as in the productive sectors of the locality. Likewise, Sari Rautio has been interested, among other things, in visits to the Laguna Rosa de las Salinas de Torrevieja as a differentiating tourist element of Torrevieja.
For his part, Eduardo Dolón has made him aware of the international resident attention service that the Torrevieja City Council (OARI) has, which is directed by the mayor Gitte Lund, and hundreds of people of foreign nationality pass through it every year, both community and non-community, to collect all kinds of information and carry out bureaucratic procedures.
The Finnish ambassador to Spain, who has received from the mayor a boat of salt curdled in the Torrevieja lagoon, has subsequently held a meeting with citizens of the Finnish community residing in Torrevieja.
