The Councilor for Culture of the Torrevieja City Council, Antonio Quesada, presented this morning together with Jesús García and Francisco Moreno, members of the Asociación Voces Líricas del Mediterráneo, the project called “Habaneras en tu puerta” that will be developed by the Municipal Habaneras Board of Trustees through this association.

Last Friday, February 23, a total of 18 Comincrea Master students, from Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, China, Colombia, Cuba, France and Spain, toured iconic and representative spaces of Havana in Torrevieja, with the aim to feed the conceptualization and design of the exhibition on which they have been working since last year.

The Local Government Board (JGL) of the Torrevieja City Council has approved this morning the modification of the contract signed with the company PAREDES PEDROSA ARQUITECTOS SLP, winner of the contract for the provision of the drafting service for the Eras de la Salt, which includes the construction of the Museum of the Sea and Salt, the multipurpose venue with the main destination for the celebration of the International Habaneras and Polyphony Contest, as well as its complementary infrastructures and the surrounding urbanization.

The overall action will involve an estimated municipal investment of one million euros, and will involve the adaptation and landscaping of this entire space for the enjoyment of citizens.

The Councilor for NGOs and Volunteers of the Torrevieja City Council, Concha Sala, informs of the start of the “Healthy Smiles” campaign, which is being launched by the Association of Families to Help Saharawi Children (FANS) in collaboration with this council. The objective of the campaign is to send dental hygiene products, such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, to the Saharawi refugee camps.

AGAMED launched an initiative at the end of last year to help the most vulnerable groups and promote sustainability among citizens. Thus, it promised to donate 1 euro for each customer who requested the digital invoice. This month has concluded this campaign in which more than €2,000 have been raised that will go to the local NGO Solidarity Food.

The councilor for Quality of Urban Services of the City Council of Torrevieja, Sandra Sánchez, informs that in the park located next to Maese Pedro street, a public lighting installation has been put into operation. Representatives of 22 local NGOs have participated in a meeting convened by the Torrevieja City Council to coordinate the reception of humanitarian aid that is going to be sent to the Ukrainian people, who are suffering from the current armed conflict. The mayor of Torrevieja and president of the Board of Directors of AGAMED, Eduardo Dolón, has informed of the investments approved in the first Council of the year, held in January 2022, to be carried out by Aguas del Arco Mediterráneo with the determination to continue in the improvement of the infrastructures of the Potable Water Distribution Network and the Sanitation and Sewage Network and the Municipal Rainwater Network.
